Lithuania’s second largest city relies on Austrian solar technology

Beginning July 2013, TiSUN solar collectors were mounted for hot water generation on the roof of the Kaunas municipal office in Lithuania. The city’s mayor, an antagonist of ‘Green Energy’, considers further installations already.

Since July 2013, 22 m² of TiSUN collector surface generate hot water for the municipal office of the second largest city in Lithuania. The company ‘UAB Terma’, TiSUNs partner and responsible for the fitting of the installation, is confident that the installation will amortize within the next four years.

‘According to our assessments, we require additional energy to generate hot water in winter, when temperatures drop below 10°degress Celsius. Through the application, we cover the entire hot water demand during summer’, explains Algirdas Vaitiekūnas, Energy Division of the Kaunas City Municipality.
