India relies on hot water production made in Austria

The sun and the rising light are honoured as a deity in Indian mythology. Therefore the use of energy from the sun exerts a special fascination for the inhabitants of the second-most populous country in the world. The “Indian Ministry of Renewable Energy” has set the ambitious target of installing eight million square metres of solar collectors throughout India by 2017. The Austrian solar thermal manufacturer TiSUN recognised the importance of the Indian solar market several years ago and founded a subsidiary in Mumbai in 2011, the TiSUN EDES-Solar (India) pvt Ltd.

Since January 2013 a TiSUN solar system supplies hot water for the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) in the capital of India and provides 1,500 litres per day of hot water for bathrooms and kitchens, a sports club and a hostel with an average of about 60 guests.
"We are very proud of this project for the Young Men's Christian Association and hope that some of the other 1,000 YMCA-facilities will find an example of it," explains Singh Premprakash, Production Manager of TiSUN EDES Solar (India) Pvt. Ltd.
